District Nurse
MedGen is currently working with a well-known organisation in the Scottish Islands who is looking for a passionate and experienced District Nurse to cover a number of shifts. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of clinical skills, personal resilience and ability /willingness to support GP with the management of acutely unwell patients and potential to have to undertake nurse transfer by road to GBH if required. Due to the remoteness of the location, the district nurse will be required to respond to all medical emergencies in and out of hours with the GP due to there being no other medical response available on the island. There is an ambulance service provision driven by volunteer drivers

As a District Nurse you will be involved in;
Assessing, planing, implementing and evaluating care, treatment and risk for service users
Delivering and maintaining high standards of clinical care
Responsible for assessing the patients’ situation, making sure that they have responded well to treatment and calling in other services when help is needed
Implementing care delivery systems, ensuring contemporary clinical practice is outcome focussed and of the highest professional standard and consistency
Ensuring that standards of patient care are consistently maintained in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures
Devising, implementing and evaluating individual plans of care based on a person-centred assessment
Providing compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity
As a District Nurse you will have;
An NMC pin
Competency in SystmOne
Competency with tissue viability
A recent DBS check
At least one year’s experience in clinical nursing
The right to work in the UK
A driving licence and access to a vehicle
