Mental Health Nurse

We're currently recruiting for Mental Health Nurses to fulfil a number of shifts in the Tayside area. You will be working alongside experienced Mental Health professionals and supporting them in several areas, meaning that you can bring your vital skills to the fight and play your part.

As a Mental Nurse you will be involved in;
Building therapeutic relationships and developing plan of care with patients
Developing risk assessments to identify risks and working with the patients to reduce them
Monitoring physical health and wellbeing and recording physical observations
Assessing and talking to patients about their problems and discuss the best way to plan and deliver their care
Ensuring the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor the results of treatment
Responding to distressed patients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of their discomfort
Helping patients manage their emotions through de-escalation techniques
Preparing and maintaining patient records and produce care plans and risk assessments
Making sure that the legal requirements appropriate to a particular setting or group of patients are observed
Working with patients' families and carers, to help to educate them and the patient about their mental health problems
Providing compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity

As a Mental Health Nurse you will have;
An NMC pin
A recent PVG Check (Medgen will support in getting an update)
At least one year’s experience in nursing
The right to work in the UK
Knowledge of the Mental Health Act
Confident, an eye for detail and happy dealing with large volumes of work
