MedGen is looking for experienced Scrub Practitioners to join our client’s theatre department in the North East. Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre and assisting to deliver effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical support. As a Scrub Practitioner you will be involved in;
Providing assistance to the surgeon/anesthetist/nursing/colleagues as required
Co-operating with appropriate surgical staff to ensure correct positioning of patient for operative procedure
Supporting in assessing patient's conditions and assisting in the delivery of care
Upholding high standards of perioperative care, according to existing policies and procedures
Ensuring that accurate records are maintained reflecting both changes in the patient’s condition and the treatment.

As a Scrub Practitioner you will have;
NMC/HCPC registration - without any restrictions or conditions
A recent DBS check
At least two years’ experience in Scrub, Recovery or Anaesthetic nursing
Post-registration evidence CPD in the role of the Advanced Surgical Practitioner, having undertaken the NASSP Advanced Scrub Practitioner Program or the successful assessment of the ASP competencies
The right to work in the UK
Confident, an eye for detail and happy dealing with large volumes of work
